With the Microsoft Flight Sim and ‘Pro Flight Simulator‘ taking the aeronautical simulation world by storm in recent years with thanks to advancements in home computer technology and the Internet, we want to take a quick look at why they are so popular. Also how do people rate this a realistic alternative to expensive flying lessons?
Pro Flight Simulator Review
The general conscensus so far is that Prof Flight Simulator matches Microsoft’s behemoth in terms of graphics, control and content. Many even seem to think is surpasses the well-known Microsoft Flight Sim, as John Harvey from Sydney explains…
“This is the most complete and thorough aircraft package available. Way more comprehensive than Microsoft Flight Simulator Deluxe…”
While no software is ever perfect, PFS does it’s hardest to try! Ray Tyson certified pilot of Arcadia, CA is personally enjoying the fact that it gives you the ability to fly all around the world – Africa, USA, Europe – total flying freedom.
Also the quality of realism that Pro Flight Sim offers is something fellow pilot Fred Levy from Jersey appreciates:
“The quality of flying in this sim is exceptional as it responds realistically to control inputs. Uses some amazing real-world weather and physics to show what a real pilot can experience…”

Some customers have voiced the fact that the simulator can be difficult to get the hang of due to its realism. After all there are a number of aircraft to master all with different cockpits and controls, the changing weather and rules and regulations that all pilots have to deal with – no one ever said flying was easy! If you struggle then it’s probably a good idea to stay with one aircraft until you get used to it and then move on to others.
However, what is interesting about the feedback received so far is that it comes from people of all ages, sex and profession. Some seem to use it as a video game and just for fun, while at the same time professional airline pilots use it to practice flying different aircraft with realism. Men, boys and women of all ages seem to be enjoying the experience for completely different reasons.
The only concern some people seem to have is with low resolution images for some areas that they fly to, however replicating the entire glove is not an easy job and hopefully the developers will improve this with future updates.
Here are a few more of the many pro flight simluator reviews from customers…
“I’ve recently gained my PPL so I wanted a life-like simulator – and I was really impressed with this. The set up of the aircrafts is exactly what you see on an actual plane…”
Kevin Jimenez – New York, NY
“Been flying the sim for over 20 years and this is the best one yet. Even if you have owned previous Flight Sims before, try ProFlightSimulator you will definitely like it…”
Mike Britt – Denver, CO
“Absolutely Top Notch. Amazingly Accurate – I have hundreds of hours in PC-based 777 simulators and this experience is absolutely top notch. Everything in the cockpit is modeled very accurately – and you get to control every switch, button, and handle. Very immersive!”
Jim Hudson – Lincoln, UK
